Please note that these Netsuke are carved from Mammoth ivory. The wooly mammoth- has been extinct for over 10,000-25,000 years--and is being dug up in Siberia, Estonia, and Alaska. there is a very limited supply of this ivory. Mammoth ivory has been used for netsuke since the ban on elephant ivory in June 1989. Mammoth ivory has the beautiful cross hatching that elephant ivory has--you need to measure the circles in order to tell one form the other. You can see the cross hatching and circles--like a tree-.
