This uniquely gabled canal house cutter comes with a matching stencil to decorate the cookie as shown. The completed cookie makes a wonderful and very unusual holiday gift. Ecrandal, an artisan tinsmith in North Carolina, was commissioned to design and produce these magnificent cutters. Each one of the three cutters in this set is a true heirloom, custom made of solid copper and a collectable piece of art in its own right. The Dutch Canal House 2 measures a generous 6.5" tall and 4.25" wide with sharp, accurate cutting edges and a generous 1-1/4 inch depth. Each is handmade one at a time without any automated machinery, in consistently precise shapes that will last for generations. With a beautiful hand-turned hem and durable copper rivets, these are so stunning they make not only exquisite cookies but classic kitchen decorations as well. The Netherlands is known for its unique architecture, and that architecture is best exemplified in its canal houses. In a country where land is precious people squeeze themselves into every available space. Most of these buildings are less than 30-feet wide. To make up for this shortfall, the Dutch learned to build up, and use steep narrow staircases to maximize space efficiency. This limited edition cutter set illustrates the variety of gables the Dutch used. This architecture dates to the 1660s.

Creating a professional quality look is easy with our exclusive precision, laser-cut durable plastic stencil. This stencil has extremely fine detail that holds up to repeated use. Center the stencil on top of the baked cookie. Use a small offset spatula to spread a thin layer of royal icing or buttercream over the top of the stencil. Carefully lift the stencil off and allow the icing to dry.
